A posh street

The street behind the Amstel houses and the Diaconie Orphanage, the Zwanenburgerstraat, became a posh street. This historical sources report high housing prices in this area. The depiction of H.P. Schouten in 1785 still shows a street where well to do people lived. A century later, the picture will be completely different.
