Sixteenth Century Architecture

The Mill House stands as a remarkable representation of sixteenth-century vernacular architecture. Through the volumetric study, it was determined that the original Mill House was a characteristic one-story brick structure featuring a crow-stepped cross gable, along with some additional one-story extensions. To accurately recreate the architectural details and texture of the house, numerous elements were added, meticulously selected based on well-documented examples that still exist in Leiden.
