When using the Structure-from-Motion (SfM) technique to create a 3D model of the training head’s face, I noticed some imperfections, such as small holes in the skin due to incomplete geometry.
Initial Skin Geometry
I addressed this by using the smooth brush in Blender’s sculpting mode to refine the skin’s geometry. While a few imperfections remain slightly visible, they are minimal and do not affect the overall appearance, resulting in a convincing effect without needing further adjustments.
Another challenge was the ear. The curved geometry of the ear, especially the backside, was difficult for the SfM technique to capture accurately, leading to some distortion.
Ear Geometry Pre-Refinement
To correct this, I deleted the most problematic geometry and reshaped parts of the ear. Although it's not perfect, the skin of the ear now appears softer and smoother.
Polished Ear Geometry
Overall, the skin and ear were successfully refined, creating a more precise 3D model of the training head.
