This edition traces the story of Muffin, a dinosaur, whose skeleton, or at least partial skeleton, is now housed at the Tate Geological Museum in Wyoming. Muffin (so named as the edition explains, during the excavation) is a late Jurassic sauropod from the Haplocanthosaurus genus. The edition covers Muffin’s journey, from its excavation at the Como Bluff Historic Palentological Site in Wyoming, to its storage and physical re-assemblage at the Tate Geological Museum, to the creation of the 3D model. This edition offers an interpretation of a possible reconstruction of Muffin’s remains for scientific researchers while also providing background and context that appeals to a wider audience.
