To create a 3D model of the original Kinora viewer, we identified five key elements that are essential to the operation of the Kinora:
(1) the lens hood, which contains two magnifying lenses;
(2) the wooden plates that support the lens hood;
(3) the worm gear mechanism, which drives the reel's rotation;
(4) the tilting arm mechanism, which holds the reel in place and guides the Kinora images;
(5) the small metal stop that arrests, separates and flattens the motion pictures during rotation.
The following articles provide further details on the replication of each element.
