Replicating the wooden support plates

Three wooden plates support the various parts of the Kinora viewer. The lens hood is attached to the "main plate". The "base plate" is the base of the apparatus. The "support plate" supports the main plate, which is held in a standing position when the viewer is in use.

We used MDF to replicate the three support plates. Although the angle of the support plate on the original viewer was 45 degrees, we adjusted it to 60 degrees in our 3D design to facilitate the laser cutting process.

To improve the stability of the replica viewer, we increased the width of the support plate's back and extended it fully to the end, instead of halfway as in the original.
