This 3D scholarly edition was made by Chiara Piccoli (University of Amsterdam) in the framework of the Pure3D project. The edition serves as supplementary material to the author’s forthcoming monograph Pieter de Graeff (1638-1707) and his treffelyke bibliotheek: Exploring and reconstructing an early modern private library as a book collection and as a physical space (Brill, 2025). Unless specified otherwise, the 3D models have been made by the author using the open-source software packages Blender and Meshroom.
Acknowledgements
The research on the library of Pieter de Graeff and on Herengracht 573 began as part of my postdoctoral research within the NWO-funded Virtual Interiors project. I thank the Virtual Interiors project team for their support and inspiring discussions, and the members of the Pure3D project and the Voyager Explorer team (Smithsonian Digitization) for their support during the creation of this edition. Special thanks to Kelly Gillikin-Schoueri (Pure3D) for her help in solving the technical issues I encountered during the preparation of this edition and to my fellow Pure3D edition makers as well as to the edition's reviewers for their suggestions. Finally, I'm grateful to prof. Paul Hoftijzer for his invaluable feedback during my research on this library.
