When reflecting on past experiences of teamwork, I was filled with apprehension when I learned that our final class for this Master’s program would entail a group project. However, I was pleasantly surprised with how everything went. We were the only group of three, while the rest of our class were paired by two. This was an advantage as we were three brains focusing on our problematic, instead of only two. Despite the arbitrary selection process, our group showed cohesion and synergy. We immediately created a WhatsApp group to communicate and organize everything.
In the process of digitizing our object for software processing, we had to take hundreds of pictures of it. Collaboration started then, as a minimum of two individuals were necessary to capture the pictures correctly and to manipulate the object to have multiple angles. This resulted in good pictures that we used to create our 3D model. On Metashape, it was difficult to work in a team setting, as only one of us had the project saved on her computer. This means that one of us had to take a lot of time to create the masks on her own. Nevertheless, this imbalance in workload was changed by efforts by the other team members, who focus on other tasks throughout the project.
The creation of the tour on Voyager was predominantly an individual effort. We initially decided on the themes of each tour together, but then each team member was given responsibility for one of the tours. We trust each other mutually with the quality of the papers, but we will all review the articles of others before submitting our work. Overall, our group demonstrated effective collaboration and adopted great organizational skills, ending up in an Capturing Barbie extremely positive experience.
