Toy Story’s breakthrough was the American computer-animated movie in 1995. The film won 29 awards including 7 Annie Awards and a Special Achievement Academy Award for John Lasseter. It received 23 nominations including 3 Oscar nominations for Best Original Screenplay, Best Original Score, and Best Original Song for "You've Got a Friend in Me". With almost $350 million in box office receipts and DVD sales, it became the highest-grossing film release in the United States in the year of 1995. (Alcacer et al., 2010). Many consider it one of the best animated films ever made. Toy Story and Toy Story 2 have an incredible 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. In 2003, Toy Story was deemed the greatest animated movie of all time by the Online Film Critics Society. Additionally, in 2005, it was selected into the National Film Registry as being one of only five films which entered within its first year of eligibility (Lasseter et al., 2010).
