The authors for this edition are Saloni Meghnani and Giuliana Brancaleone. Both are students at FaSos (Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences) at Maastricht University. More specifically, they are currently acquiring their master’s degree in Media Studies: Digital Cultures, 2023/2024.
Saloni Meghnani
Hello! I am Saloni Meghnani. Previously, I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication in Taiwan in 2023. My passion for media and the creative industry propelled me to pursue this Master as it blends communication theories with a vast array of technical skills that train us as young scholars and give us the flexibility to work in numerous industries. This project allowed me to tap into my existing knowledge of photography and image processing. I thoroughly enjoyed the theoretical parts of this course and gained a deeper insight into the value and cultural significance of toys.
Giuliana Brancaleone
Hi, my name is Giuliana C. Brancaleone or G (she/they). After receiving my Bachelor's degree in Arts and Culture at Maastricht University in 2023, I decided to continue with the Master's programme at FaSos. During my bachelor's I developed a greater interest in culture and gender studies and the influence of technology, specifically digitalization in our society. I enjoyed developing and realizing this project by getting to know more about project management and design thinking. Specifically, I learned how to present a project through digital storytelling and to capture its audience.
