As briefly mentioned in “Issue 1: The Hole in The Head”, a huge disadvantage for Metashape rendering were the largely uniform-coloured parts of the figurine. While easy for production, it was a nightmare to capture using photogrammetry.
The head was mostly yellow, as was the tail, while the dress had red parts without any defining detail. As such, we not only had issues with the hole in the head but also holes in the dress and the tail due to a lack of reference points.
It took until the last day of capturing, however, to implement a suitable solution to this issue.
