This doll was chosen because of its cultural value and interesting look. We decided to tell the story of the artisans who make the doll and the doll’s importance to Mexican culture and heritage. This allowed us to explore important issues such as colonialism and indigenous cultures’ struggles for recognition, as well as take a critical look at economic empowerment programs put in place to deal with those issues.
We created a 3D model using photogrammetry and put together this 3D scholarly edition using Voyager Story, to create a multimodal narrative of the object. This tour shows the steps we took and the challenges we faced along the way.
