Outcomes and Limitations

We faced some challenges while trying to capture the doll. She had to be stabilized with needles so she could stay still on top of the foam; setting her up took some time. She did fall from the foam, so we had to redo the shooting.

Another big issue was her clothing: the software couldn’t fill in the shadows in the apron's creases. We were worried that the clothes might move if we tried to put her upside down to capture her feet, so we had to be very careful.

We then had some problems with generating the model: it took a lot of time to load, and the project crashed once.

Both of our laptops kept on crashing while processing the pictures in Metashape, so we had to use an external laptop.

The doll had to be stabilized with additional needles.

There were lumps and foam residue that we needed to clean manually.

It took a lot of time to smooth out the texture of the doll.
