Hey! We are Rienke and Rosa-Lynn, the creators of 3D- Eyela. In 2024, we started our Master Program in Media Studies: Digital Cultures at the University of Maastricht and as part of our last course Creating Digital Collections, we built this 3D model of Eyela for the collection “Toys with a Voice”.
Rosa-Lynn Mattig is a master student of the Master “Media Studies: Digital Cultures at Maastricht University” at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. She is mainly interested in how digital media shape society's perception, morals and behaviour. The fairy has a personal meaning to her, as she grew up playing in nature and dreaming of fantasylands. Her hobbies are reading, crocheting, dancing and photography.
Rienke is also a Masters student of “Media Studies: Digital Cultures” after finishing the bachelor “Digital Society” at the same faculty. She has spent the past years thinking about the meaning of digitalisation and how projects like this one change how culture and society function. Elves and fairies have always been an interest, if in literature or nostalgic movies, she always finds their presence in the fantasy worlds magical.
