An aspect of Eyela that gives her extra popularity is her status as the crown princess of the sun kingdom in Bayala; Soleyas, meaning she will soon become queen of the sun elves. The sun elves are highly regarded in Bayala, making their leader a very powerful figure for the entire kingdom. Therefore, when crowned, Eyela will be given a lot of responsibility in keeping the whole kingdom running smoothly.
This places a lot of significance into the coronation ceremony, as it is the moment Eyela will become responsible for all of these tasks and get given all her power. therefore in many stories about Eyela the coronation as a plot point, either at the beginning or end of a storyline. Being either a cause of trial and tribulation or a happily ever after.
Eyela’s sisters, Sera and Surah, are also princesses however they are not in line for the throne. Therefore they also do not bear the extra pressure or responsibility, this leads them to be more carefree and reckless compared to Eyela who is often more composed and calculating. Along with that Eyela fulfills a motherly role towards her sisters, as they do not have one in the stories, which further cements her as the responsible one.
In some iterations of the Bayala story Eyela is in the process of coronation or has already been crowned queen. As new queen she is shy and unsure at first as she is unaware of many customs and rituals of the elven kingdom. However after a little while she gets the hang of it and becomes a respected leader to all of her subjects.
Eyela having this power and dealing with it in the way she does makes her a good role model for young children, especially girls. It shows her as a young person whose opinions are listened to and respected. It also demonstrates that women can be leaders and successfully run a kingdom. They also show the struggles of power and the process needed to gain respect and recognition in such a role.
