Uploading the result on Voyager and creating tours

The final part of the project involved uploading the model to Voyager and using various features to create interactions with it, allowing us to explain the nature and significance of our toy through articles, photos, videos, and more. We even created an introductory audio where the little Mei introduces Totoro. Additionally, we added music, notes directly related to Totoro’s details, and 3D models that enriched the Voyager environment and kept our forest guardian company.

Working on Voyager was relatively straightforward. The program’s features are very intuitive and allow for a high level of customization, giving creators the freedom to express themselves in a creative and unique way to craft engaging tours that thoroughly and compellingly tell the story of their object.

Creating the tours allowed us to combine almost all the functions available on Voyager into a single section. We experimented with Totoro’s positioning in space to offer different perspectives on the model, highlighting specific parts or annotations. Unlike the digitization process, this stage didn’t present unexpected challenges or difficulties, but it certainly required a lot of time and precision to ensure the tours were smooth, intuitive, and well-organized. We also worked to minimize frequent errors caused by small limitations in the layout of the articles.
