Before we began capturing photographs for the photogrammetry process, we noticed that Kermit's tag was curled, which would make it difficult to get a clear image for the 3D model. To ensure the tag appeared correctly in the photographs, we tried to straighten it by using a hairstraightener. We carefully wrapped the tag in baking paper to prevent it from being damaged by direct heat. Unfortunately, due to the fragile fabric of the tag, it melted during the process, leaving only a small portion of it intact.
Realizing that the original tag was no longer usable, we decided to recreate it from scratch using Blender and Photoshop. In Blender, we started by creating a flat plane, then used a modifier to bend it into the shape of the tag. This allowed us to recreate the physical structure of the tag. We used a photo with Kermit's original tag as a reference while we designed the new texture in Photoshop. We made sure to adjust the font and Kermit's head design slightly, to avoid any issues of plagiarism, while still maintaining the essence of the original tag.
Once the texture was finalized, we applied it to the 3D model in Blender. We attached the recreated tag to Kermit's body, ensuring it aligned properly with the rest of the model.
