Taking the second set of photos significantly improved the image quality, but E.T. still had four arms. Instead of an adorable alien, he looked anything but handsome at that point.

To solve this problem, we split the photos into two sets: one of the front and one of E.T.’s underside. This allowed us to process the images separately. We then followed the steps indicated by our teachers to complete the model. We aligned and merged the two parts, using only the part under his feet from the ‘bottom’ set. This solved the problem because his arms were in a different position in the ‘bottom’ pictures than in the ‘front’ pictures.
