The creation of the model has been a challenging process. To create the model, we have used the program Agisoft Metashape Professional and took pictures with equipment from the Plant located at the FASoS faculty of Maastricht University.
To capture E.T. properly for the 3D model, we had to make sure his limbs didn’t move as we rotated him around to capture all the angles. His arms were quite stiff and stayed in place during the process. His head, on the other hand, was extendable and, because the toy is quite old, this part was quite loose. We used small pieces of sticky clay to stabilise his head. This worked well, although the clay is visible in the final model.
