How are men portrayed in the film "Mulan"?
Male characters in "Mulan" have duties to protect their family and country, and their honor is generally achieved through valor on the battlefield (Manaworapong & Bowen, 2022). Several male characters in "Mulan" are also given roles such as the emperor, and the commander which shows patriarchal. This represents Chinese society and cultural backgrounds, where men have authority and responsibility in the whole society (Manaworapong & Bowen, 2022).
