We are Manon and Florence, two master’s students at Maastricht University. We created this 3D scholarly edition of a Sansa Stark Funko Pop! as part of our module Creating Digital Collections. Whilst previous years focused on museum collections our year group focused on creating digital collections as part of a larger collection called Toys with Voice. We used Agisoft Metashape to generate 3D models which we then imported into Voyager/Pure 3D where our editions will be presented within virtual tours. As two Game of Thrones fans, we took great joy in uncovering the meaning, hidden details, and context behind the rich character of Sansa Stark.
Hi, or Bonjour! This is me Florence Bodson, currently a master’s student in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of Maastricht University. To begin my academic journey, I first started in Belgium as a bachelor’s student in Tourism and Management. During these three years, I took a special interest in digital media and communication which brought me to the explorations of further studies and formations. This led me to the pre-Master of Media Studies: Digital Cultures. This first step towards the master made me only more excited and curious about the master’s courses. Today, as the master's course draws to a close, I can say that it has truly been an enriching and insightful journey filled with highs and lows. Throughout this specific process, I was able to put into place so many of the things that I have been learning these past few years. Furthermore, I believe this project it the most rewarding of all due to its rich and complex nature. By looking for the meaning of what appears to be a simple object, I was able to look beyond it and develop my critical thinking skills. Both theory as well as the making of this project were used during this course. As a painter, I have to say that the most rewarding part was truly the “making” of the 3D process.
